چکیده

Degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), including polychlorinated dioxins/furans (PCDD/Fs), by microorganisms has received much attention in connection with natural attenuation and bioremediation of xenobiotic pollution (Hiraishi, 2003; Wittich, 1998). Large numbers of aromaticand PAHdegrading bacteria from polluted environments have been isolated and characterized. The so-called sphingomonads represent a major group of the aromaticcompound-degrading alphaproteobacteria frequently isolated from polluted environments (Leys et al., 2004; Pinyakong et al., 2003; Yabuuchi et al., 2001). In particular, members of the genus Novosphingobium, which was created to reclassify some species of the genus Sphingomonas by Takeuchi et al. (2001), are aromatic-compound degraders in general (Balkwill et al., 1997; Fujii et al., 2003; Liu et al., 2005; Sohn et al., Novosphingobium naphthalenivorans sp. nov., a naphthalene-degrading bacterium isolated from polychlorinated-dioxin-contaminated environments

Forty-four Thai isolates phenotypically assigned to the genus Gluconobacter were examined for 16S-23S rDNA ITS restriction analysis by MboII and SduI ( Bsp1286I) digestions. The Thai isolates tested were divided into seven groups: Group I for fourteen isolates, Group IX for one isolate, Group X for two isolates, Group V-2 for four isolates, Group XI for three isolates, Group IV for one isolate,...

When culturing the pileitrama of young fruit bodies of the two mycoparasitic agarics, Asterophora lycoperdoides (Bull.: Fr.) Ditmar and A. parasitica (Bull.: Fr.) Singer, two tremelloid yeasts were detected (Laaser et al., 1988, 1989; Prillinger, 1987a). The term tremelloid was suggested by Oberwinkler (Laaser et al., 1988; Oberwinkler pers. comm.) for budding yeasts having a cup-shaped parenth...

The family Micromonosporaceae was first described by Krasil’nikov (1938) based on morphological basis and Goodfellow et al. (1990) emended the family and added the genera Actinoplanes, Dactylosporangium and Pilimelia on the basis of numerical and chemical analyses. Koch et al. (1996) emended the description of the family to reflect its phenotypic and chemotaxonomic heterogeneity. Later Stackebr...
